My columns are getting crowded! Rather than allow my Open column to keep growing I would love to add another column called Development Backlog. I cannot find a way to add a column to my board.

Welcome to our forum!
There is a way to add additional columns (i.e. issue statuses) to the Board using custom statuses. This feature is available for all paid plans (Starter and above). You can learn more about it at our Custom Status for Issues post.
However, the four default statuses (Open, In Progress, Resolved, and Closed) are not changeable. We can only add additional statuses between these defaults.
