How to duplicate a diagram

Duplicating a diagram is a quick way to make a copy so that we can customize it while keeping the original diagram intact.

There are two ways to duplicate a Cacoo diagram:

1. Duplicate a diagram in Editor
2. Duplicate a diagram in Dashboard

Note: Duplicating diagrams is different from duplicating sheets. A diagram can contain one or more sheets — and these sheets can also be duplicated in the diagram.

How to duplicate a diagram in Editor

  1. Click on the dropdown menu button beside the diagram name to open the menu.
  2. In the menu options, select Duplicate.
  3. In the modal popup, you can change the Title of the duplicate diagram, select its Type (Diagram, Custom Shape, or Custom Template), select the Folder to save it in, and also choose to save it in another Space or Organization (if you belong to more than one). Then, click Save.

:bulb: Tip: You can also duplicate a publicly shared diagram from another Space/Organization to your Space using the same method. (See pic below.)

How to duplicate a diagram in Dashboard

  1. In the Dashboard, hover over the diagram and click on the 3-dots menu.
  2. In the menu options, select Duplicate.
  3. In the folder popup, select the Folder to duplicate the diagram to, and then click Duplicate.

Summary

We have shared two ways to duplicate a diagram in Cacoo:

  • Duplicate using the Editor
  • Duplicate using the Dashboard

The difference between the two methods: when we use the Editor, we can choose to save the duplicate diagram in another Space. This is if we belong to more than one Cacoo Space, or the original diagram is publicly shared by another Space.
