Every time someone joins backlog, whether I’ve invited them or not, I get an e-mail. I would like to disable these but I don’t see any way to do so.

About your question, unfortunately there’s no way to disable the email notifications about a new member joining the organization (“New Member added to Nulab Account”).
As a security measure to alert the organization, Administrators and Plan Admins will receive this email notification whenever there’s a new member.
However, ordinary members or members with “Invite User” privilege will not receive this email.
I’m aware that the frequency of such emails might be interruptive to your work. If it’s any consolation, this might be the onboarding phase; when most members have joined the organization, these emails will end (or be less frequent).
